CHANGING DIGITAL SIGNAGE SOFTWARE

Switching from MySignagePortal: what to check first.

A change of CMS should solve a specific problem in the way you run your screens. MySignagePortal and ScreenZeno are separate platforms. Check the complete setup and try one representative screen before changing a working network.

Decide what you need to improve

Write down the work your team does each week: updating an offer, changing a menu, scheduling a campaign, giving a manager access or checking a remote screen. Use those tasks for a demonstration of both your current setup and the proposed replacement.

If the current platform already meets your needs, staying with it can be a sensible choice. ScreenZeno offers browser and phone updates, scheduled playlists, separate customer organisations, roles, monitoring and playback reports on compatible setups. Review the ScreenZeno software overview.

Confirm the exact display and player

Send each display and player model, software version, orientation and resolution. MySignagePortal working on a screen does not establish that the same player can run ScreenZeno. An external player or a different configuration may be needed.

Ask the current supplier about any hardware, licence or support conditions before changing software. Keep a record of the existing configuration so there is an agreed route back if the pilot does not meet your requirements. Check what to send for a compatibility assessment.

Keep your original media and rebuild the programme

Retain the images, videos, PDFs and other source material you are entitled to use. Write down the playlist order, item durations, campaign dates and opening-hour schedules. List dynamic data sources and Power BI dashboards, including who controls access to them.

Do not assume an account, native layout or schedule can be imported directly between platforms. Confirm what can be reused and what must be recreated. Check each file and page on the target player, including fonts, cropping and readability.

Run a representative pilot

  1. Choose a screen with content and schedules typical of the wider network.
  2. Publish your own media and test an ordinary update from the device your staff will use.
  3. Check timed changes, campaign endings, orientation and the next content to play.
  4. Test a connection loss and recovery. ScreenZeno screens keep playing the last good content if the internet drops.
  5. Review reported status, supported screenshots, offline alerts and playback reports.
  6. Confirm who can publish and who will provide support at the location.

Compare the complete change

ScreenZeno's published software price is £14 per month or £120 per year per screen, including VAT. Hardware, installation, setup and training are agreed separately. Compare those costs with the work needed to recreate content and train the people using it. Read the plans and prices.

Check the existing subscription's renewal and cancellation arrangements with its supplier. Agree the new licence count and support responsibilities before moving further screens. Keep the existing service available until the pilot is accepted and you have agreed the changeover.

Bring your requirements to the discussion

Send your screen models, locations, content examples and the task you want to improve. Digi Sign NI can discuss a compatible ScreenZeno configuration for Northern Ireland and Ireland.
